EP. 74 "The Shot and a Cheer" (Geoff Billet)

The Scarlet Spotlight is happy to be joined by former Rutgers men's basketball guard Geoff Billet, who played during the Bob Wenzel and Kevin Bannon eras. Billet (now the basketball coach at his high school alma mater Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft) details his path to Rutgers from the Jersey Shore, his recruitment by Wenzel and the transition to the Bannon era. He covers his famous shot at MSG in the 1998 Big East Tournament, missing the NCAAs in 1999 and the NIT elimination that year. Billet also discusses his brother Todd's arrival at Rutgers, Bannon's firing, and Todd's transfer to Virginia upon Gary Waters' arrival. In the Scarlet Six. Danny and Jon talk Rutgers men's hoops, women's hoops, wrestling, spring schedules and Geo Baker's comments on NIL.
